The Friday night set at the featured numbers like “Asian Hooker” and slunk around to “The Shocker” and “Community Property.” Steel Panther’s lampooning of groupies, sex, drugs and rock ‘n’ roll was over the top, but still did not overshadow the band’s musical talent, as evidenced by the melting of the lead guitarist’s amp.

This farce glam rock act is more then just mock ‘n’ roll; it embraces parody as the sincerest forms of flattery.
