A Boeing 757 made an emergency landing at the Colorado Springs Airport this morning after it was diverted because of engine trouble, the FAA said.

Passengers on Delta flight 1921 from Detroit to Phoenix used emergency slides to get off the plane.

The plane – with 224 people on board – landed about 10:30 a.m., said Mike Fergus, an FAA spokesman. A fire broke out in the main landing gear, Fergus said.

Two people were taken to a Colorado Springs hospital for minor injuries, said Colorado Springs Fire Department spokesman Lt. Bull Hull.
