WASHINGTON — White House officials are considering William Daley, once commerce secretary and the brother of Chicago’s mayor, for a senior administration position, likely chief of staff, Democrats familiar with the situation said Monday.

President Barack Obama is expected to begin acting on staffing recommendations from his interim chief of staff, Pete Rouse, as soon as he returns today from his vacation in Hawaii.
