The Aurora Fire Department and Safe Kids Denver Metro will inspect car seats for free on Jan. 14 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Arapahoe Crossing Shopping Center, in the parking lot in front of the Old Navy store at 6432 South Parker Road in Aurora.
Certified car seat technicians will examine the carriers and offer safety information for parent.
The fire departement announced the event today, noting National Highway Traffic Safety Administration statistics that found in 2008 children younger than 14 accounted for 1 in 25 U.S. traffic fatalities. Children accounted for 1 in 12.5 traffic injuries.
