DURANGO, Colo.—A Durango man who said he left videocameras at his condo for security while he was out of the country now faces criminal charges after his house-sitter discovered she was being taped.

Fifty-six-year-old Mark “Steve” Brown was charged Friday with stalking and unlawful sexual contact. Prosecutors say he placed cameras to record his house-sitter while he was working in South Korea. One of the cameras was pointed directly at the house-sitter’s bed.

The Durango Herald reports that the house-sitter discovered the cameras and called police. Authorities listened on the phone when she called Brown to confront him . Brown allegedly told her the cameras were for security but she could disconnect them.

Brown was released on a $5,000 bond.
