DENVER—Gov. John Hickenlooper has rolled up his sleeves and signed four executive orders aimed at promoting jobs and education.

Hickenlooper signed the orders Tuesday soon after being sworn in as Colorado’s 42nd governor.

One of the orders requires the state to partner with local communities in creating jobs and designing economic plans for those communities.

Another creates the Governor’s Trade and Tourism Ambassador Program. It will encourage people in other states and countries who have a stake in Colorado to spread the word that the state welcomes innovation and new investment.

The third order is aimed at helping counties cut red tape. The governor also signed an order to study education from preschool to college.
