A 12-inch water main broke beneath East Evans Avenue just west of South University Boulevard shortly before noon Monday, according to Stacy Chesney, spokeswoman for Denver Water.
One eastbound lane and one westbound lane of Evans were open while crews worked, Chesney said.
A six-person crew hoped to have repairs completed Monday night.
