Metro Denver hotel occupancies in 2010 rebounded from the 19-year low set in 2009.

The annual lodging report by Denver’s Horwath HTL/Montgomery & Associates showed metro Denver’s hotels enjoying a strong surge in business in mid-to-late 2010, climbing to a 66.1 percent occupancy level. That’s an 8.4 percent increase over the near-record low of 60.6 percent set in 2009. Downtown Denver’s hotels saw occupancy reach 69.7 percent in 2010, up from 66.1 percent in 2009.

Average room rates at metro Denver hotels climbed slightly in 2010, reaching $115.03. That’s 1.4 percent more than the average room rate in 2009, yet well below the all-time high of $128 set in 2008.
