Democratic Sen. Mark Udall’s push to get Republicans and Democrats to sit together during next week’s State of the Union address has (living room) legs.
Beyond where politicians sit at the Capitol on Tuesday, Udall urged Coloradans to host bipartisan State of the Union “watch parties” so Republicans and Democrats could sit together and talk about the ideas in a tranquil setting.
So far, 6,408 people have signed Udall’s civility petition, and 13 people say they are hosting bipartisan State of the Union watch parties, Udall’s office said Friday.
