Getting your player ready...

Height: 5-feet-11.

Weight: 150 pounds.

Age: 17. Born: May 3, 1993, in Aurora.

High school sport: Swimming (Class 5A 2008 and 2009 champion in 200-yard individual medley).

Grade-point average: 4.5.

Class: Senior.

My favorite subject: Mathematics.

My favorite athlete: Aaron Peirsol.

My favorite team: Broncos.

What I listen to: Hip-hop and rap, but I also like country and alternative.

The best things on my training table: Chipotle and anything with a carb load.

Premeet ritual: I always listen to music and get myself pumped. Just think about racing and having fun.

Time management tip: Pretty much, for me, schoolwork always comes first, so I have a plan and I work that in around my practice schedule. If I need to study, I’ll miss practice and my coaches will understand. Usually, it’s just having a plan.

Planned career: Business, signed to swim at Cal-Berkeley.

My family: Parents Alan and Susie; brother Nick.

I would love to visit: Australia.

What high school sports mean to me: I definitely think high school and club swimming are way different. High school has definitely turned me into a better person and given me leadership skills. It’s more important and seems to be more prevalent in high school than club and more of a team atmosphere, which is cool. It’s not as intense as club, but I’ve learned a lot through being captain.
