A man and a woman were killed Monday afternoon when their Jeep was hit head-on by a Mercedes that swerved into their lane in a curve in northwest Douglas County.

A 3-year-old in the Jeep survived the crash. The woman driving the Mercedes had injuries that the Colorado State Patrol described as not life-threatening.

No names have been released, pending notification of family. No charges were immediately filed.

The collision closed U.S. 85 at Titan Road in northwest Douglas County for more than four hours during an investigation.

The crash happened at 4:12 p.m. Troopers said the Mercedes was going south when it ran off the road then swerved back into the northbound lane, hitting the Jeep.
