Broomfield-based Ball Corp. on Wednesday appointed a new CEO, declared an increase in its quarterly dividend and announced a stock split and a stock repurchase.
Ball’s board of directors elected John A. Hayes as the company’s president and chief executive. Hayes, who has been a Ball employee since 1999, most recently served as president and chief operating officer.
Ball also announced a 2-for-1 split of its common stock. The split is scheduled to take place Feb. 15.
The company also announced a 40 percent increase in its quarterly dividend, to 7 percent post-split.
The appointment, split and dividend came the day after Ball announced that it was consolidating some of its beverage-can manufacturing facilities. On Tuesday, Ball announced plans to close its Torrance, Calif., beverage-can plant during the third quarter of the year.
