Ian Imamura may end up playing college football close to home. The Denver Post Gold Helmet Award winner as Colorado’s top combination of senior football player, scholar and citizen in 2010 is leaning toward attending the Air Force Academy.
The Falcons have made an offer to the Pueblo West tight end and linebacker. Other schools, including Arizona State, are showing interest in the 6-foot-4, 205-pound Imamura. But the 60th Gold Helmet Award winner, and first from Pueblo, recently visited the Air Force Academy and was impressed.
The Falcons want him as a linebacker. National signing day is Wednesday.
