Heavy snow in the East kept the Rev. Run of the group Run-DMC from flying to Denver and forced postponement of his lecture Thursday at the Auraria Campus, the University of Colorado Denver said tonight.
The event is postponed “until further notice,” a spokeswoman said by e-mail.
The free event, called “Follow Your Dreams with the Rev. Run,” was intended to greet Auraria Campus students beginning the spring semester.
Rev. Run, whose name is Joseph Simmons, is one of the founders and the lead vocalist of the pioneering hip-hop group, star of the reality TV show “Run’s House” and brother of hip-hop mogul Russell Simmons.
He is an ordained minister who “continues to promote positive messages,” according to the university.
