WASHINGTON — A California mother says she was forced off a United Airlines flight in a dispute over a seat row too narrow to accommodate an infant carrier.

Melissa Bradley said in an interview that she and her party of seven were asked to leave a flight to Honolulu on Wednesday because she took a picture of an economy-class seat row that was too narrow to fit her Federal Aviation Administration-approved rear-facing infant carrier.

Bradley said she bought a separate seat for her 11-month-old daughter because she was concerned she might not be able to hold the child in her lap if the plane hit turbulence.

A United spokesman said Bradley was removed because she was disruptive.
