started off the first show of their two-night run celebrating the anniversary of with a bang on Friday. After a long opening DJ set, the band took the stage with a spot-on rendition of Sly and the Family Stone’s “Dance to the Music.” The show continued into the wee hours of the morning, keeping those in attendance grooving to the music of Jamiroquai, Prince, Stevie Wonder, the Talking Heads and others. If this show is any indication, Cervantes’ will continue to keep the diverse Denver music scene flowing long into the future.
