Will trendsetter/guitarist pay Boulder a visit on April Fools’ Day? Quite possibly, especially considering that his latest infatuation, rockabilly queen , will headline the on April 1.
Jackson, 73, is best remembered as the singer and songwriter behind the ’50s classic “Letap Have a Party” –- a song that is considered the first rock ’n’ roll release from a woman. Her latest CD, the White-produced and -arranged “The Party Ain’t Over,” is proof that the singer hasn’t lost much in the last five decades. The release, out on Nonesuch and White’s Third Man Records, is a bombastic ride through rock, soul, R&B and rockabilly – with Jackson’s iconic growl leading the way.
White played alongside Jackson at showcase gigs in New York and Los Angeles –- along with their televised counterparts with David Letterman and Conan O’Brien, as seen below. Tickets for her Boulder show, $20-$22.50, are available at .
