Two women who say a former western Colorado prosecutor coerced sexual favors from them may have to testify at his preliminary hearing Friday, after a judge declined to quash subpoenas served on them.

Both women worked with former Montrose-based District Attorney Myrl Serra along with a third alleged victim.

Serra is charged with unlawful sexual contact, indecent exposure, extortion and official misconduct. He has denied the charges, as well as allegations that he harassed a witness in the case.

The Montrose Daily Press reports that a judge declined to quash the subpoenas Tuesday.

Serra’s attorney subpoenaed one woman for her phone records, and he wants the other woman to testify about what she did after another alleged victim came to her with allegations against Serra.
