MISSOULA, Mont.—First place in the Big Sky Conference is on the line when the Montana men’s basketball team hosts Northern Colorado Saturday night.
Northern Colorado is 10-2 in the league after an 86-77 win over Montana State on Thursday while Montana moved to 9-3 with a 64-44 win over Sacramento State.
Northern Colorado beat Montana 63-45 on Jan. 6 in Greeley, Colo.
Montana coach Wayne Tinkle said the Bears are a tough team. He tells the Missoulian the Griz are going to give them everything they’ve got and see how it shakes out.
Montana point guard Will Cherry has missed the team’s last two games after spraining his ankle. Tinkle says he’ll consult with the trainer to see whether Cherry can play Saturday night. He says they may not know until Saturday’s pregame shoot around.
