Each team member must wear a bunker coat and fire helmet. Teams get two runs and the lowest combined time wins. Registration begins at 8 a.m. There's a team-captain meeting at 8:50 a.m. and racing is 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Awards are presented at 4:15 p.m. Proceeds benefit the Children's Hospital Burn Camps Program. March 5: Denver Metropolitan Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure benefit to be held at the Nordic Center in Frisco. Snowshoers of all ages and levels are invited to raise money in support of breast cancer education and research. Tubbs Romp to Stomp invites young people to get involved with the Lil Romper program for kids ages 6-12; the Lil Bitty Rompers, up to age 5; and, new for 2011, the Lil Romper Dash, a snowshoe sprint for kids. Progressive Bonfire Dinner

March 19: Snowshoes or skis are required for the Crested Butte Nordic Council’s annual dinner that takes participants along a luminary-lit 4K trail for a four-course, four-fire meal. The outing begins at 5 p.m. where diners meet for a cup of hot wine or cocoa at the Town Ranch trailhead, located behind Crested Butte Community School. Kids Running America Spring Program

Registration is open for the KRA Spring Marathon Running Program. Kids Running America is an incremental running program designed for kids to train for the 26.2 mile marathon distance over a given time frame, finishing their final mile at the Kaiser Permanente Colfax Marathon on May 14. Adolescent depression study

Through June: The Jefferson Center for Mental Health and Klein Buendel Inc. are looking for teens with depressive symptoms to participate in a research study, “Depression Outcomes Study of Exercise,” or DOSEforTeens.
