BOULDER — A 34-year-old woman ticketed in October on suspicion of child abuse and reckless driving after Boulder police said she threw a full cup of liquid at another car, splashing a toddler in the back seat, has pleaded guilty to reckless driving and been ordered to take a road-rage class.
Maria Bass of Erie also was sentenced to 10 days of electronic home monitoring and ordered to pay court costs when she pleaded guilty Monday.
Bass was ticketed after police said she pulled in front of another driver at the intersection of Arapahoe Road and 75th Street on Oct. 15, forcing the other vehicle to swerve into oncoming traffic. The other driver, who was in the car with his wife and three children, ages 2, 5 and 6, told police that Bass kept driving dangerously down Arapahoe, and he pulled up next to her at 55th Street. They exchanged words at the stoplight, according to a police report, and when they started driving again, Bass allegedly continued to slam on her brakes and swerve toward the other driver.
At Arapahoe and 47th Street, police said, Bass — with her 5-year-old daughter — threw a full cup of liquid at the other car, and some of it hit the 2-year-old, who had the window down. Vanessa Miller, Daily Camera
