COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.—Police have questioned the driver of a sport-utility vehicle that dragged a Colorado Springs tow truck operator to his death after the operator became entangled in a chain attached to the SUV.

No arrests have been made in Wednesday’s mishap, and investigators haven’t said whether the driver knew the man was being dragged.

Police identified the victim Thursday as 35-year-old Allen Rose. The coroner says he died of blunt force trauma.

Police haven’t released the SUV driver’s name.

Authorities say Rose attached the chain to the vehicle to tow it from an apartment complex parking lot when the SUV driver got in and drove away. Investigators say the chain snapped, and Rose was somehow caught in the part attached to the SUV. He was dragged for more than a mile.
