The family of a man shot and killed by an off-duty Arapahoe County sheriff’s deputy has signed off on a settlement in a civil lawsuit over the incident.
The family of David Rossiter reached the agreement with Arapahoe County Deputy Daniel Montana and his boss, Sheriff Grayson Robinson, last week, according to federal court records. Details of the settlement, which must be approved by the county commissioners, are confidential.
Montana was off-duty in 2007 when he shot and killed Rossiter during an altercation on a highway off-ramp in Lakewood. A grand jury declined to indict Montana, and he was allowed to return to duty.
