LAFAYETTE, Colo.—Lafayette police say a man whose mother was found dead at the bottom of the stairs in her home told detectives that his mother shot him and he “stomped her head.”
The Daily Camera in Boulder reports that a search affidavit released Thursday says 33-year-old Adam Ari Raszynski said his mother came down the stairs shooting at him Wednesday. Police responded to a 911 call from the home and found Raszynski bleeding from gunshot wounds and 60-year-old Rita Redford dead at the bottom of the stairs.
Raszynski was flown to a Denver hospital. It wasn’t clear what his condition was.
The coroner is trying to determine how Redford died.
Police say during a call to the home a month ago, the mother said she was afraid of her son.
