Up along the mesas west of Arvada, where Ralston Butte forms a backdrop and the lights of Denver are laid out to the east, is one of the fastest (if not THE fastest) selling luxury home areas in Colorado – 26 sales last year centered between $450,000 and $600,000. With some “best picture” views and big ranch plans to render them from, D.R. Horton’s Spring Mesa is moving into the last quarter of its available sites — including a new cul-de-sac that opens today.
Buyers always like cul-de-sacs, says D.R. Horton’s Scott Herring, not just for the seclusion, but because lots lay out bigger around the radius – from 20,000 square feet to almost ¾-acre on ones you’ll see today a mile-and-a-half north on Quaker from W. 64th. “I’d be shocked if I ever get to sell a property like Spring Mesa again,” he added, showing me the big ‘Delaware’ ranch model you’ll tour, along with one of D.R.’s family-sized 2-stories, both showing the standard 3-car garage that’s included with all homes here.
Herring and partner Sandra Steinmetz, with the coffee on, will also show you two ranches at Spring Mesa that can deliver right away – one at $519,000 – both tucked up beside an interior park with a brook running through. Buy either of those homes today and D.R. Horton will include a certificate for $7,500 in landscaping as part of the package.
Meanwhile, all are wrapped in lakes, trails, and 160 acres of open space, linked by trail to Arvada Reservoir, Ralston Creek Trail and other parks – assets used not only by the buyers lured to D.R. Horton’s five ranch plans, but also families needing even more space, wanting Meiklejohn Elementary School (9 stars out of 10 at GreatSchools.com) and Ralston Valley High (10 stars for 10).
Herring adds that those families, arriving not only from Arvada but other west suburbs and from out-of-state, are passing the word on D.R. Horton’s quality. One told him that the building inspector had stopped by to check details…was “very complimentary on your build, and was asking his wife to drive over for a look.”
By the way, the City of Arvada has weighed in on some picturesque ridge-top, single-loaded sites you can see (there are only four left). They HAVE to have ranch plans – no two stories allowed.
You’ll see D.R. Horton’s trademark ‘7-Diamond Kitchen’–36-inch recessed gas cooktop, double oven, tile backsplashes, wine cooler, self-closing drawers with glides and more. Take W. 64th west, past Indiana, to Quaker, then north 1.5 miles to W. 76th Drive.
