SEATTLE — A couple rescued four days after their SUV slid off a secluded forest road near Mount St. Helens say they spent their time playing cribbage, melting snow for water and running the engine just a few minutes at a time to stay warm and save gas.

John and Patricia Norvell of Vancouver, Wash., both 63, were rescued Friday after campers saw their Jeep Cherokee, covered in snow. Their only food was jelly beans.
