A Ford Explorer plowed into a home on Evans Avenue this morning after the driver apparently had a medical condition.

The woman in the house at the time was not injured, but there is a hole in the front of her home.

A Denver firefighter on the scene said the call came in about 7:45.

The woman and her cat were able to get out with no injuries, and firefighter on the scene worked to stabilize the house at 3420 W. Evans Ave.

The firefighter said the homeowner was unavailable to comment.

Fire spokesperson Phil Champagne said the driver, who apparently had a medical issue, was taken to the hospital.

Neighbor Rehenna Castro, 34, said she saw the SUV coming.

“My only thought was, it’s coming into my home or her home,” said Castro, who has lived nex door for six months.

Then, “it was just a boom,” she said.

She heard her neighbor scream.

Castro works as a home health aide, and she said it was clear to her the male driver was having a seizure.

She said she went to check on the driver, who was lucid when paramedics took him away.
