Boulder police are working with the FBI to investigate three robberies they believe may be connected.

Police are looking for the suspect, or suspects, involved in three armed robberies in the city during the past 24 hours, according to a news release from the Boulder Police Department.

Suspects stole an undisclosed amount of cash in each robbery.

Police are also investigating a fourth robbery, which occurred tonight, to see if it might be connected to the other three.

The first robbery took place Monday night at the Wells Fargo bank on Canyon Boulevard.

At 5:26 p.m., a man walked into the bank and handed the teller a note demanding money. The suspect claimed to have a gun, though no one reported seeing one.

The teller gave the suspect cash and the suspect was last seen running south away from the bank.

The second robbery happened Monday night at 10:45 p.m. at the Circle K convenience store at 3185 28th St. The suspect walked to the counter and asked for a package of cigarettes, police said. The suspect then showed the clerk a note demanding all the cash in the register.

The note indicated that the suspect had a gun, but the clerk told police he never saw one.

At 9:45 this morning, a man robbed the Boulder Valley Credit Union at 2667 Broadway.

Again, the suspect showed tellers a note demanding money and claiming to have a gun. No one saw a weapon, police said.

Employees at the credit union and the clerk at the Circle K described the suspect as a white male, 40 to 50 years old, about 6 feet tall with pockmarks and scaring on his face.

Longmont police are also investigating a robbery that happened tonight at a Wells Fargo outlet inside the Safeway grocery store at 1040 Ken Pratt Boulevard.

Police have contacted Boulder police and the FBI to try and determine whether this robbery is connected to the earlier three, according to Jeff Satur, spokesman for the Longmont police.

A man entered the store and handed the teller a note demanding money and claiming he was armed.

No one saw a weapon and the suspect left the store with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The man was seen getting into a white Ford Explorer and driving off northwards on Ken Pratt.

Witness described the man as having a skinny build, being 5 feet 5 inches to 5 feet 8 inches tall, weighing 140 to 170 pounds and wearing a knit cap with tassels covering the ears.

No one was hurt in any of the robberies.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Brian Scott with Boulder police at 303-441-3381.
