The woman who vanished after she was questioned about her 6-year-old son was located yesterday in Colorado Springs.

Officials had been looking for Vania Rae Sisk, 25, since she failed to show up for a child custody hearing on Thursday.

She had been questioned about the whereabouts of her 6-year-old son, who is missing from North Carolina, according to a news release from Sgt. Nick Olmsted of the Teller County Sheriff’s Office.

Wednesday night, officers from both Colorado Springs police and Teller County went to her home in the 200 block of East Ridge Drive, but were unable to find the 6-year-old boy, who is missing from Durham, N.C.

Officers did find nine other children at the home who were taken into protective custody by the Teller County Department of Social Services.

Sisk failed to show up for a child custody hearing in Woodland Park the next day.

Since locating Sisk, the Teller County Sheriff’s Office has closed the case and is forwarding information to authorities in North Carolina.
