EVANS — Authorities say several houses in Evans were evacuated after a man was found dead in a garage with a cylinder nearby that appeared to contain compressed gas.

The Greeley Tribune reported that neighbors were told to leave Saturday out of concern the cylinder might explode.

Authorities haven’t said how the 36-year-old man died, but they say they don’t suspect foul play. His name hasn’t been released. He was found in a car. Residents were allowed back into their homes later Saturday. The Greeley-Weld County bomb squad removed the cylinder, but officials didn’t immediately say what it contained.
