GREELEY — Thieves made off with more than $15,000 in copper piping and a boiler from a hotel in the middle of the afternoon.
Greeley police are looking for as many as three people who stole the items from the boiler room of the Clarion Hotel & Conference Center on Feb. 26, while 750 guests were in two nearby banquet rooms.
“Considering these two guys were willing to do this in broad daylight, I just can’t believe it,” said hotel general manager Colleen Bourquin.
Borguin said no one had been in the hotel’s boiler room, which is under construction, since contractors left Feb 26. When the workers returned March 5, they noticed a 5- to 6-foot roll of piping and the new boiler were missing.
