A very lucky young cat used up one of its nine lives Friday, after someone apparently threw the animal out of a moving vehicle along a Louisville highway.
Louisville police Sgt. Mark Spinder said the incident happened about 8:30 a.m. on eastbound Colorado 42 near 104th Street.
A woman driving in the area reported seeing the cat tossed from the window of a vehicle, possibly a pickup truck, that was traveling about 50 mph.
Police have not located the vehicle.
Spinder said the woman who witnessed the incident stopped and picked up the cat, which is slightly older than a kitten.
The Humane Society of Boulder is waiting for police to wrap up the case before making any decisions about whether the female cat will be put up for adoption.
