Denver-based startup GutCheck won the top prize at this month’s DEMO Spring conference, which gives exhibiting companies a few minutes to showcase their products. The prize includes $1 million in free advertising in IDG publications. IDG, which publishes Computerworld, GamePro and Macworld, produces the conference.
GutCheck is an online focus-group provider. Its “recruitment engine” can quickly sort through 5 million research participants to find clients the right target users to be interviewed online. Gut Check says the service costs $40 per chat instead of the typical $400 to $1,000 per person for focus groups.
