A man was charged today with sexually assaulting a woman in 2007 after he was identified through DNA evidence.
Steven Lee Hill, 24, is accused of grabbing a 59-year-old woman who was walking along a bike path in the 9000 block of east Mississippi Avenue on Aug. 30, 2007, according to a news release from the District Attorney’s office in Denver.
The woman was able to break free and run for help.
Hill was identified as a suspect earlier this year when DNA left on the victim’s clothing matched his.
Hill is currently being held at the Adams County Jail on an unrelated case. He is scheduled to appear in Denver County Courtroom 2100 on April 6 at 10:30 a.m. to be formally advised of the charge.
