Getting your player ready...
Losing one and adding two:
It wasn’t all that long ago that Peak to Peak won a state hockey title. The Pumas became only the second Denver-area team, joining Kent Denver, since 1982 to claim a title when they made their glorious run in 2006 and beat Cheyenne Mountain in the final.
But the growth of the sport, most notably at nearby Monarch, made it tough for the Pumas to compete, and they folded their program this week.
But “pending board approval” later this spring, the addition of Mountain Vista and Resurrection Christian will give the sport 29 teams next season.
