The man who died in a two-vehicle collision Wednesday morning near Fort Lupton has been identified as a resident of Lochbuie, in southeastern Weld County.

The coroner’s office had difficulty contacting the relatives of Charles Mark Anderson, 43, and it wasn’t until late Wednesday that they found Anderson’s family, to inform them of his death.

Anderson died at the scene of the 8:20 a.m. crash at the intersection of Colo. 52 and Weld County Road 23, about two miles west of Fort Lupton.

According to the Colorado State Patrol, Bill Taylor, 41, of Fort Lupton was stopped at the intersection in his 2001 Dodge Ram pickup, waiting to turn left. Anderson, driving his 1990 Geo Metro, hit the back of the pickup, destroying the smaller car and killing Anderson. Taylor was not injured.
