A woman died this morning in Aurora when she was hit by an SUV.
The pedestrian was struck at about 6 a.m. near the intersection of East Iliff Avenue and South Havana Street, said Cassidee Carlson, an Aurora Police Department spokeswoman.
Police said a 1998 white Chevrolet TrailBlazer was northbound on South Havana Street in the center lane and the driver went through a green light at East Iliff Avenue, where the SUV hit a pedestrian on the north side of the intersection.
Police said the driver did not see the pedestrian until just before impact.
The victim was taken to a local hospital where she died of her injuries.
The investigation into the fatal accident is ongoing, police said.
