A 24-year-old Fort Collins man is expected to survive his injuries after being thrown from a sports car stolen a short time earlier this morning in a home-invasion robbery in Loveland.
Ryan Crawleigh allegedly was driving the Nissan 350Z coupe “at a high rate of speed” when he lost control in the 5800 block of South Taft Hill Road in Fort Collins about 4:30 a.m., police said this afternoon.
According to the Larimer County Sheriff’s Office, Crawleigh is a person of interest in a home-invasion robbery earlier in the 200 block of Monroe Avenue in Loveland.
The 48-year-old resident told investigators two men broke into his home Tuesday afternoon, attacked him with a club and tied him to a bed, then robbed his home and took his car, the one Crawleigh crashed.
In a media release this afternoon, the Sheriff’s Department said of Crawleigh “it is unknown at this time exactly what his involvement was.”
Court records show Crawleigh has been arrested numerous times in Mesa County on drugs, theft and other charges. Crawleigh’s Facebook page states he grew up in Palisade before moving to Fort Collins.
He pleaded guilty in 2009 to introducing contraband to the Delta Correctional Facility and had 18 months added to the sentence he was serving for other offenses, records show.
