DENVER—Most Denver city and county offices will be closed as employees take a furlough day.

Friday is the second of five planned furlough days this year as a way to save money. City officials say each furlough day saves about $1 million for the general fund.

The offices that will be closed include the Denver mayor’s office, city council offices and recreation centers. The Denver Zoo and Denver Health will be open as well as police and fire departments and Denver International Airport.
