DENVER—The body two teenagers found near a Denver city park is that of a 17-year-old boy.

The medical examiner’s office identified the boy Monday as Joshua Oaks Churchwell, but didn’t give a hometown for him.

Officials are trying to determine the manner of his death.

KUSA-TV in Denver reported the teens found the body in a suitcase Friday, but authorities haven’t confirmed that.

Authorities say the two teens were walking at Ruby Hill Park when they discovered the body on property belonging to Solid Waste Management. They found a public works employee, who contacted police.

Police spent Friday trying to excavate the partially buried body.

Authorities say they believe the body was there for about 48 hours and that there are no obvious signs of force.
