PITKIN COUNTY — A backcountry skier from Aspen was killed by an avalanche near the Aspen Highlands ski area Monday.
Adam Brady Dennis, 38, was skiing with four other people in an area south of Maroon Bowl when the slide occurred about 2:45 p.m., according to the Pitkin County Sheriff’s Office.
Rescuers will try to recover Dennis’ body today if conditions permit.
