Authorities this evening identified the man killed in an avalanche near the Aspen Highlands ski area as Adam Brady Dennis, a 38 year-old Aspen resident.
Dennis was backcountry skiing with 4 others in an area south of Maroon Bowl known as Desolation when the avalanche occurred at approximately 2:45 p.m., according to the Pitkin County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities expect to attempt to recover Dennis’ body tomorrow if conditions permit.
