A Weld County man was sentenced to 36-1/2 years to life in prison for sexually assaulting his daughter repeatedly over the course of several years.
A jury found the man guilty of sexual assault on a child on a child by a person in a position of trust as a pattern of abuse, aggravated incest, sexual exploitation of a child, possessing material related to the sexual exploitation of a child and tampering with evidence, all felonies.
The Weld County District Attorney’s Office is not releasing the name of the man to protect the identity of the victim.
According to police reports, the defendant had repeatedly sexually assaulted the girl since June 2008. The assaults occurred in the home, while the girl traveled with the defendant on his trucking routes and at numerous motel rooms in Weld County. Investigators said that on some days the defendant would remove the girl from school and take her to a motel where he would sexually assault her.
Photos of the assaults were also found in the defendant’s possession, which investigators say he used to arrange meetings with other women.
The Weld County District Attorney’s Office is not releasing the name of the man to protect the identity of the victim.
