The man who died in a motorcycle accident Friday on Cherry Creek Dam Road has been identified as Jeremy Spence, 33, of Aurora.
Spence was headed eastbound when he lost control of his 2003 Suzuki at a right turn and slammed into the guardrail, according to Colorado State Patrol spokesman Trooper Nate Reid. Spence was ejected from the bike and died on scene.
Speed appears to be a factor in the crash. CSP would not say how fast he was going, but a member of the victim’s family said he was told Spence may have been going as fast as 90 mph. The posted speed limit is 35 mph.
Alcohol or drugs are not suspected, and Spence was wearing a helmet.
The crash is the second motorcycle fatality on the road in the past three years. A 25-year-old male was killed in July 2009 when he hit a guardrail on the road.
