Police are continuing their investigation of a body found last night near Olympic Park in Aurora.
The body was found in an open area near South Chambers Road and East Yale Avenue, Bob Friel, spokesman for the Aurora Police Department, said.
Police suspended their search of the scene when night fell. Officers guarded the area and the body during the night until detectives and crime scene investigators returned to the area early this morning.
No information about the victim or the cause of death has been released.
Investigators cleared the seen and the body was taken to the Arapahoe County Coroner’s office this afternoon.
“I’m evaluating day by day what information can be release without compromising the integrity of the investigation,” Friel said. “At this point I’m not really seeing any addition details, I hope do so next week.”
Denver Police Department spokesman Matt Murray confirmed that the body is not 19-year-old Kenia Monge, the Aurora woman who went missing last week after visiting a downtown Denver nightclub.
Anyone with information about the body found in Aurora is asked to call Detective Chuck Mehl at 303-739-6213.
