FORT COLLINS, Colo.—Fire officials say a wildfire west of Fort Collins is now 95 percent contained.

Fire managers say there some of the 376 firefighters at the scene Sunday could start heading home.

Thirteen homes were destroyed as the fire spread rapidly last week.

Fire managers did not immediately have an estimate of when the fire was expected to be fully contained.

A team will begin efforts to control soil erosion and sediment and debris runoff from hillsides denuded of vegetation.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
