The Boulder County Coroner’s Office today identified a toddler who drowned in a decorative pond in Boulder Saturday as 3-year-old Bladyn Vogels.
The boy was found in the pond at a home, in the 7600 block of 34th Court, at about 2:20 p.m. yesterday by responders from Lefthand Fire Protection District, the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office said.
Vogels was not breathing or responsive and he was pronounced dead at Boulder Community Hospital.
The boy and his mother had been visiting relatives in the neighborhood, according to the sheriff. The child had been playing in the relative’s fenced-in yard but found a way out.
The Coroner’s Office said the investigation into the boy’s death will take 4-6 weeks.
