Charitable funds to help two firefighters are being rerouted to an incorrect address, probably by a thief, firefighters warn.
The two Arvada firefighters suffered burns to their upper bodies April 3 while battling house fires at 6555 and 6565 Union St.
A fund was set up to benefit the firefighters, one of whom remains hospitalized, but someone is fraudulently soliciting by phone for the fund and instructing contributors to send donations to a bogus address, said Scott Pribble, an Arvada Fire Department spokesman.
The correct address for contributions is: Colorado Professional Fire Fighters Foundation, ATTN: Arvada Fire Fighters, 2342 Broadway, Denver, CO 80205.
