THORNTON, Colo.—Authorities say a pedestrian killed on Interstate 25 north of Denver was rolling on the road into oncoming traffic when he was hit by a tractor-trailer.
The accident Friday morning shut down northbound lanes in Thornton for about five hours, backing up morning rush hour traffic.
The crash was reported at around 5 a.m.
It’s not clear why the man was on the highway. Police say he was on the center median barrier area and then entered the northbound lanes.
Police said the driver of the tractor-trailer that hit the pedestrian pulled over immediately after the crash.
