BOULDER — The Four Mile Fire Protection District held a flood training exercise on Saturday to prepare for potential flood emergency events, the Daily Camera reported.

The training addressed an increased risk of flood and debris flows due to erosion stemming from September’s Fourmile Canyon fire.

The heightened training is scheduled to continue for the next three years, which is expected to be enough time for the vegetation being planted in the burned area to take hold, the newspaper said.

About 90 workers from 15 agencies responded to a variety of staged emergencies in Fourmile Canyon.
